Hi all,
am back from my break away and ready to tackle my first fleece. I know I have jumped in at the deep end but a free fleece is a free fleece. I have cleaned and carded half of it and now am ready to try some spinning. (background to this is under fleece I think!!!) I wonder would anyone using this site know if there is a good shop in Ireland where I could buy a drop spindle? or maybe a web site that you have used that is reliable? I have tried to make contact with spinners in Dublin where I live but they dont seem to be using their email addresses..... Also which spindle would you suggest I go for? Would really appreciate any advice you can give me.
Thanks

| Do you not feel inclined to make your own? A cd, a toy wheel, even a spud on a pencil all work well whilst you are searching for a 'pretty' one |

| If you look on eBay they usually have a few on there, I can't say anything about the quality though. |

HI Helen,
as it was my first spindle I didnt really know what to look for. I emailed Laura Beaven at Twist Fibre Craft studio in Fife and she was very helpful. I bought a starter spindle with some roving and very clear instuctions from her.
I dont use it as much as I would like as I am working full time, teaching knitting and making bits and pieces for the family. But when time allows I really enjoy relaxing with the spindle.
Cheers
