Is anyone going?
Exhibiting?
Want to meet up?

How do you register for a stall?
We could do it en masse!

If you go to woolfest.co.uk there is a form to fill out, with your application you need to send in proof of insurance of a minimum of £2,000,000 public liability insurance, also preferably a picture of your goods, then they decide if you can have a stall. I am applying personally as I want a full stand but there is nothing to stop people from applying together but you would need your insurance together aswell.

I`ll be going with my knitting-only friend, same as I did last year. As buyers, not sellers.

Last year we camped for three nights at a local campsite. The facilities were a bit basic (but very clean) and there were a lot of other Woolfestites there too, so very sociable. It meant we could have two days at the show. It would have been stressful to try to do it all in one short day plus we fancied the idea of a weekend away from the kids and husbands. There was so much to see and so many people to meet up with that one day wasn`t nearly enough.

I wouldn't mind having a stall Smile I've been desperate to go to woolfest since it started but it's the same time as our local festival down here so I've never gone. I might make an exception this year though.

we camped aswell, I have young children, as does my friend, so both families camped together. This was great as it meant the men had the kids for the day while we had a day of shopping!! There was a really nice stone circle near our campsite, so we went to watch the sunset there one night, beautiful. The kids loved running around, met some fellow woolfester's there from the isle of man (i think?), could have been isle of white. definatley camping again next year. Such a beautiful location.

For those of you thinking of having a stall, are you able to take card payments? I don't want to hire a stall at a large festival/fair until I can accept cards, but when I've looked into it, it seems very expensive.

did you stay at the same campsite I stayed at? I can't think of the name but up the hill off the main road just near the stone circle, absolutely packed out all weekend.

I don't accept card payments, but I will take that risk, I may loose a few customers but on the whole a lot of people take cash with them

It was castlerigg hall, near keswick, we went on the friday to make sure we got a pitch, i think it was full by saturday.

Beth
jadeandchrissy

no it wasn't the same one, I really can't think of the name could have been burns farm, but not too sure, we made sure we booked and I am glad we did, I may stay a little nearer woolfest next year, I am sending off my application tonight so fingers crossed I get a stand

I look forward to it, I will be going regardless, just hope to earn more than I spend next year, this year I spent a fortune, lol such a great wool show

I really enjoyed it last year and will definately be going again - despite the smell! Would love to say hi to anyone who will be there on the Saturday. I think your idea of all exhibiting something together sounds great Natalie, it can be hard to fill a whole stall with wool when you're spinning on your own!
cledry yarner

The campsite acrylik stayed at sounded good - they did breakfasts I think.

now you've got me thinking, and i'm tempted to try and get a stall myself. going to the website to check it out.

We were camping at Greysonside campsite, but I don`t recall a stone circle or many kids around. They had chalet type accomodation as well.

All this talk about Woolfest - I love it! I just spent last night talking in my sleep to you lot after I met you all there - even woke my husband up! Don't know whether I'm just over excited or the fact I turned 36 this week - on the slippery slope now!

I sent off my application form for a stall and I think I forgot to put my insurance details in. I sent an email asking if they want it sent as an attachment etc but I've had no reply Confused Has anyone else had any response to their application?
jadeandchrissy

I have spoked to them and they say it can take up to a month to get a response to find out if you have a stand or not, so I guess we just have to wait, lol
Chrissy

Woo HOo, I have had my conformation that I have a stand at woolfest, I am quite hyper about it and now freaking out about how much stock will I need, don't want to take too much but don't want to sell out, lol. any ideas?
Chrissy
natalie

Me too, it came this morning.
I'm really chuffed.

n
jadeandchrissy

that is great it will be lovely to meet you. how do you know how much stock to take?
Chrissy
cledry yarner

Got mine too. I didn't send off insurance docs - twonk Rolling Eyes
natalie

A car full of yarn?
No idea really, I have always sold online so I have no concept of how much stock is expected. As much as possible?
Those of you who have been before, what are the stalls spaces like?
Do we need tables?
Backdrops?
Screens to dangle stuff off?
Signage?
Who can take credit cards? Does anyone know about this?

I feel a subgroup forming....
Should we have a woolfest section on the forum?

It will be lovely to meet you all.
I booked accomodation tonight.... the B&B said June was a long way off...and then the man's wife told him it was woolfest! I didn't want to chance waiting, so I just booked it now.

I've moved this thread into its' own section.

I don't know whether to do B&B or camping Confused

Didn't someone say that campsites won't take bookings? That would worry me a bit but then as a trader Imight be going up before regular customers anyway? Oooh I don't know - what to do?
jadeandchrissy

Most campsites take bookings, I will be booking early next year, I need to as I need electricity and a large pitch
Chrissy

I'll be there too, just got my letter this morning accepting me!! I didn't get round to applying until I saw some of you had stalls already, that gave me the kick up the backside I needed. How exciting, need to start designing more kits now!!!
