Weekend plans

What's everyone up to this weekend?
I finished the first sock last night, so I plan to try and do the second one.
We picked our first strawberries this morning in any quantity, we've had one or two before but being in the frozen north, they are much later here than in the South.
I hope to spin some more of the swizzle roving and ply it. I'm considering weaving a bit of it to see how it turns out.
And I really must do some sketching for the course or I'll lose momentum altogether.
I think that's enough!
What about you?

Lucky you having strawberries to pick. We got ours early but they're all gone now. I've had a busy day in the kitchen today baking, preserving and cooking. I had a browse through one of my quilting books today and must start looking out for fabrics to increase my stash. Once the cooler moths arrive I'll be less busy in the garden and can turn my attention to quilting again.

Yesterday I was working, matinee and evening perfs so I spent the rest of the day drinking coffee with the cast and then eating ridiculously late and suffering badly with indigestion all night! Evil or Very Mad
Today I have a meal out with my family to look forward to. My youngest son was 18 last weekend and we're out to celebrate. Dont suppose I'll get too much done but I'm designing a quilt at the mo, so I'll hopefully spend an hour or two on that tonight.
Not a very fibre friendly weekend really!

The youngest reaching 18 is quite a milestone, mine are 17 and 15, the eldest is quite miffed that he will miss voting in the Scottish Parliamentary elections by a few weeks next year.

Tell us more about the quilt. I'm sure that counts as fibre-rich activity.
I haven't done any quilting for months, there are only so many hours in the day.

I have spun almost all the Swizzle roving now. I was going to make another skein of the yarn, but decided that if I spun all or almost all the roving, I could make several hanks at once, which would be almost a project's worth. Then I can move onto trying a new fibre, probably the bottlegreen/rust/steel grey/cream merino roving. (There's a photo of it a few entries back on the blog.) Also have some soya and some bamboo to experiment with. I've never tried plant fibres, so that should be fun.

Has anyone tried making the felt bowls which are one the oneskein site? It's at http://oneskein.blogspot.com
I really fancy trying this but don't want to buy the whole book just for the bowls.

Happy Sunday
Strawberries for tea for me!
