wanted; Jumbo flyer for Haldane lewis or orkney wheel
Does anyone want to sell one of these or know of anybody who might?
Haldane no longer make wheels and they can only supply bobbins now. I have the phone number for them if anyone wants it.

I wonder if Claire's husband could do one for you?
He makes gorgeous spindles, maybe he could do bobbins too, if he had one to copy.

Can you post a piccy and I can ask him? He would need one to copy if he can make them. He builds harpichords and continuo organs so I'm sure he can do this .

I have re-read your post Julie1 and I realise it is the Jumbo flyer that you want. My dh can make one if you have an old one or a measured drawing of one. Without that it would be hard to work out the dimensions etc.
Alternatively, do you know someone locally who could modify an Ashford one for you?

Thanks for your help ladies, but as I understand it, it isn't simply a question of bigger bobbins. Apparently you need the maidens,and flyer assembly with the larger orifice and dimensions. I don't really want an odd one that doesn't match the wheel, I think I would rather purchase a 'country spinner' than do that.
I am not that struck on the Ashford wheels, I prefer something a bit more traditional in appearance.
I will keep my ear to the ground still, you never know, I might get lucky
