To beg, borrow or ? a spinning wheelWe are moving to London in one month and, having just got back into spinning, I am miserable at having to leave behind my dear Wee Peggy.
I NEED A WHEEL!
I have some ideas:
a) If you bought a wheel in a fit of enthusiasm and aren't using it much I will happily babysit it for a year in return for spinning up some of the huge bags of fibre you bought with it
b) I will give spinning lessons in return for the use of a wheel
c) I will buy an unwanted wheel as long as it is not too expensive - don't want to splash out too much when I won't have it very long.
Let me know if you can help

If you can find your local Spinners Weavers and Dyers Guild, not sure where it would be in London but I will try and find out, you can borrow one from them if you join. I'm doing that with our Guild, and I've got a drum carder as well! Hours of fun.

Yes, your local Guild will often have a wheel to rent, though it`s usually on a month to month basis as other folk might want to rent it too.
For cheap wheels, try Ebay UK. If you don`t necessarily want a popular make of wheel like an Ashford you can pick up some real bargains. And of course, you`ll probably be able to sell it for much the same amount of money as you paid for it.
