Monday 11th Sept and the rest of the weekWhat is everyone doing this week?
This morning I'm packing up some yarn I sold on ebay, still getting to grips with what to print out and what to send off and what I need to keep, but I have it worked out now.
Then I will take more photos of other yarn, and send it off to Leonie who is doing my website.
And then, sadly, there's the ironing.....

Hmmm - I don't do ironing, but there's a bathroom in need of cleaning and I'm desperately trying to finish projects before I have to make the house presentable for estate agents (arggghhhh!) That means sorting out my craft cupboard/yarn stash/pile of 'things that might come in handy one day' and pile of 'things to do' Oh hell. I think very small chunks may be the order of the day! And try and do the bulkiest things first (hurrah - that means felting and spinning!) Must try and do something every day, rather than everything someday!

I have to confess I'm struggling today. I'm off to speak at a very scary conference tomorrow and I'm not having fun writing my lecture or brewing my potions. Went to see to the bees, but one hive was dead, and now I have a headache. I'd like to curl up and knit, but I have too much to do so I'm feeling a bit meepsome. I'll pull myself together in a second I'm sure, just having a grumble
What I really want is to be more organised then I wouldnt be doing things like writing lectures the day before I'm due to give them, but hey ho.

Hope you feel better soon Sally. My FIL has several hives and has lost many of his bees this year too.
I am busy packing the new swifts, nostepinnes etc and trying to get paperwork etc organised. Then more curtain sewing - by hand - tinight.

I am busy getting my son to nursery, then home, then fed and in bed as he is tired. Other than that I have been posting photos of my most recent projects on AY forum.
I went to the post office this morning to post off some parcels. I have also been buying a few bits and bobs on Ebay and other places and talking to my friend on the phone for far too long!
FYI Natalie, here is a couple of pics of the sock yarn you sent me. I am really pleased with it and cannot wait to make socks with it:
The second photo isn't quite the right colours as more greeny bits but you get the idea. What do you think? It is different to dyeing rovings and handspun yarn, less surface to work with if youget what I mean. Fun though...I wanna do more!
That's me anyway, hopefully I will get myself a bit more organised this week.

I love it!
It is different, having to have yarn tied in the hank to dye it means you have to move it around "in the flat" to get good coverage, and sometimes moving it makes unexpected combinations happen. Some of my best ones have happened when the moving and the combos haven't been kind to each other and I end up overdyeing the lot with yellow or pink, and suddenly WOW I get a really fantastic new mixture.
I really like tha fact that no two are the same, even when i've set out to do four the same at the same time, the movement has made them look slightly different in the skein and I know from looking at the spacing at the end that they will look very different knitted up.
Sally good luck with your talk... what's it about?
Meepsome is such an evocative word.
Tired today, not sleeping very well.

I have gutted the livingroom and the new suite is in place The old suite unbolted into 5 pieces which are all sitting in the diningroom, blocking my route to the iron, not that I'm bothered
I will be spending the next couple of days perfecting my sock design and I thought I would knit one with the sock yarn I dyed with Kool aid a couple of months ago

I`m trying to declutter a bit before the builders arrive for their three month stay. Uphill task! (See blog.)
On a crafty note, I signed up for the Autumn session of the Haddington Spinners, my local group. And I think next Saturday is the first meeting of the new session of the Edinburgh Guild of Spinners, Dyers and Weavers. (Though I must email someone to confirm that. ) Though I`d better dust and oil my wheel off, I`ve hardly touched it all summer!
Are you going, Natalie?

I decided to go ahead and book a room for the beginners Spinning class so I've done some leaflets and am in the process of pinning them up around her. Here's hoping there's at least some response!

Oooooh, exciting times CC and SF.
When will the event be happening?
You should post it on the Angel Yarns forum too, lots of folk there are talking about spinning.
SF How's the decluttering going? (Have been reading your blog.) I notice you are only getting rid of cooking pots, not fibre or wheels ...
We had building work done 2 years ago and we still haven't done all the redecorating. It's absolutely fatal to start living in the space before you've wielded the paintbrushes.
Off to the Post Office this morning, and then need to order some dye and make OH a birthday cake.

We did that too. Our extension was built 2 years ago, and we are still liveing with plasterboard walls and bare brick section!!
OH well, one day I suppose.....anyway, who wants to decorate and plaster when there is fibre to play with

Hi girls, sorry had to rush off for a mo, you all sound busy, hope the conference went well Sally.
Tomorrow I am off to Birmingham Knit and Stitch Show on the early train, hopefully picking up a few tips to spinning fine yarn - bet when I succeed with this I will want lumpy bumpy yarn
Friday I wonder - perhaps a little tidy up and then play with anything that I have bought at the Show - bound to find something I cannot do without
Chat later - Jenny.

Sorry - didn't see the second page. It's at Cedar Farm in Mawdsley. I live near Ormskirk, are you anywhere near there Jade and Chrissy?
I think when I posted before that Natalie mentioned having a spin in which I thought was a great idea, or even a knit in where we could all swap info and if I could get an internet connection have relevant web sites for inspiration.

I'm off to the NEC tomorrow too
Look for a short, fat, middle-aged faded red-head wearing glasses, accompanied by a giant hubby (he is 6'7" tall)
He does embroidery (hardanger)and I'm after the spinning stuff.

Thats a shame, maybe another time though. Did you know there is a Spinners Weavers and Dyers Guild just outside of Blackpool who meet on the second Monday of the month. If you want to visit its free and I think membership is only something like £14 per year. We're getting ready to exhibit some of our wares next spring.
If you fancy it, let me know and I'll give you some details and even meet you if you like.

Is that the one that meets in or near salwick?
I would like more details please, I have the problem that Hubby works nights so I am limited as to when I can attend things, but please give me any details and I can see what I can do
thanks a lot

It's in Weeton, not sure if that's the one you're thinking of - you go up towards Kirkham and then at the sign for Singleton you turn right. Don't know if that helps any, and they start at 7.30. You can always pm me if you get a night you can go.

I went to the Knitting and Stitching Show yesterday. It took us three and a half hours to get there - should have taken just over an hour! This was thanks to two sets of stupidly placed temporary traffic lights in Worcester and chaos on the trains. We got there though and had a ball. I met up with some bloggers but nobody from this forum.
The purchases will be blogged about a bit later today. I was rather restrained and was actually out-spent by my Mum, an event never before seen!
Hope everyone else who was planning to go got there without difficulty!
