I've got a playshed full of fleece at the minute,and I'm dying to get at it but what do you know? As soon as I mentioned to DH that I was going do wash one every other day, it started tipping it down Mad

.I managed one before the weather turned ,so now have another 7 to do ,5 shetland ,one woodland and a manx and I can't even spin to keep myself out of mischief as we've got the kitchen stripped out and my wheel has taken root on the landing, out of the dust Rolling Eyes

. Never mind, it'll get better.

Well, i can't believe I've only just got stuck into the rest of the fleece! Kitchen is now all but finished and we've done the holidays so the good weather has come just at the right time Razz

I'd forgot what lovely stuff I'd got, so opening the bags has been like christmas, i've finished the manx and I'm partway through my first white shetland which is scrummy, My eldest has discovered a talent for feeding the drum carder which is very useful, and my younger son has claimed the katmoget shetland for a jumper - he's very specific about the design too!

Oh, I am itching to get at my fleece! (I always feel like a bit of fraud round here, being such a beginner at all things fibery!) My wheel is all set up, and I have a lovely crafting table for felting on (and so many felting plans in my head!) But it feels like such a winter activity, and the wretched garden (and house - mykitchen is half finished too) demands too much time at this time of year. I much prfer winter! Roll on October!

But it's so difficult to get anything dry! I have fibre drying all around my house along with washing at the moment, it's driving me mad and my other half is doing the rolling eye thing constantly. Maybe we'll have an indian summer.....

Weather here is perfect - I've got 2 done today. I've been drying them draped on the fence, only trouble is my utility room sink is a bit small so I have to wash them in installments! I'd never manage if I waited until winter, they'd have nowhere to dry in my tiny house Embarassed

Oh I do know how you feel - I had (in July/Aug) three Romneys, a Texel, and sections of a(une?)Ouessant, Scottish longwool, Cheviot (white and black/brown) managed to get them washed in log bags over many days in the sink - some dried outside but some had to drain over the bath while I waited for a dry day.
I think it might take a while to finish fluffing them all and spindling will take some time too Rolling Eyes

currently they are mostly in old pillow cases awaiting further 'fettling' Laughing
