Hello from CarmarthenshireBovey Belle here - I found this forum this morning, and hey-ho, I already know some of the folks on it!
I've just (today in fact) finished a 6 week spinning course, and have really enjoyed it and learned a lot. There were 4 of us on the course and we're going back in a couple of weeks to do part one of a Dyeing course - part two being natural dyeing, and that will be held in the spring. We tried spinning with ALL sorts of strange things today - if I thought the recycled PET bottle stuff was strange (though it spun up nicely), then when I opened one of the practice boxes and found Yak wool, my eyes were on stalks. It wasn't as difficult as I thought, but the fibres got on my lungs and I won't be repeating the experience.
I'm looking forward to learning through this forum too. Hi to Kathy, Wellington Womble and anyone else who may know me.

Hi BB.
Sounds like you've had a great intorduction. I have been wondering about the PET fibre too. Been a bit busy dyeing though recently. 17 skeind of bright pink yarn for the Breast Cancer Care fundraiser done yesterday... and at the end I discovered I had a hole in my glove so I had one very pink thumb! (The pink yarn is on my website).

Oooooooooo BB, lovely to see you here! . Well done with the spinning course, once I've caught with all my other crafty things I'm going to have a go with a dropped spindle.

isn't it amazing what a small place the web can be after all!?
Hello! It's a bit dangerous in here - I've seen all sorts of things I want to try out.......

Positively incestuous WW!!! I suppose quite a few of us have mutual interests in varying directions, so are bound to pop up in similar places. I can see I'm going to be led astray again with fresh ideas too . . . Not enough hours in the day.
