I have been using Ashford dyes up to now, but am frustrated by not being able to get a really good rich pillar box red.
What kind does everyone else use?

Kemtex. The dyes are good and you can buy them direct in large quantities. As a result they also work out cheaper.

Thank you!
Have you used the Ashford dyes?
I'm just wondering how the kemtex ones are in terms of concentration?
Do you get a good bang for your buck?

I've never used the ashford dyes - kemtex are good compared to the omega ones, that's the only comparison I've got. I've used their red once - kemtex that is - and it was fine.
A good bang for your buck? Now you're testing my memory |

Looking at the website, they seem to do at least three kinds of acid dye, which one do you recommend?
They all come in slightly different colours as well, so a red in one is different from a red in another range. I need to do more research I think.
What does everyone else use?

I use Jacquard acid dyes, although difficult to get hold of in the UK they are really good. Nice bright colours. I also use food colouring, especially for a nice red but not really pillar box red unfortunately!
Thanks for the link to Kemtex...I haven't heard of those before! _________________ Handspun Yarn!
