I picked some Sweet Gale when I was in the New Forest last week - a really paltry amount, just a couple of ounces when it was weighed, but hopefully sufficient to try and get a yellow dye with (alum as a mordant). I spun a couple of ounces of yarn yesterday, which doesn't sound much but it was fine rather than substantial, so this morning I am going to see if it's worth repeating as a dyestuff. Watch this space.

Couple of ounces will do child's fingerless mitts, no amount is small! I'll look forward to hearing how you get on with dyeing. Smile
