My Inkle loom arrived on Wednesday and I put it together and then had to wait for the glue to dry. Last night I started weaving on it and found it a very easy and relaxing thing to do! My selvedges started out looking awful but I think I've cracked it now and they're much better. There are pictures on my blog here: http://spinningsue.blogspot.com/2006/08/im-warped.html

Now I'm eyeing up a rigid heddle loom...

That looks great, I really like the colours. I know what you mean about the edges, takes a wee while but once you get onto a rhythm, very addictive! Very Happy

The colours are lovely. I've never weaved and that looks incredibly complicated, well done it looks really good. Very Happy

When you say "make heddles" do you mean make heddles (!) or do you mean make heddle looms?
I am impressed whichever it is.

I mean actually make the heddles. For my inkle loom they are made from string, cord etc, in my case from DMC pearl cotton no. 5 because that's what was to hand. The instructions that came with the loom tell you how to make them, quite easy but a bit time consuming when you're chomping at the bit to get weaving! I've got some more pics to put on my blog so I'll take some of the heddles and include them too.

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments on my first attempt. Very Happy
