but this is my first real felting project. Was lots of fun, and took me a chunk of Saturday afternoon (beats trying to sell the house!) and a bit of extra washing and fiddling on Sunday. Highly reccommended, and I'm also planning on another version for me, now I've got the hang of it, and one for my Mum for Thingymas. It's a little lumpy and bumpy, but its more or less the right size and shape, and definitely and recognisably a pointy hat. Dead Chuffed of Bucks, here. Spinning next weekend, then!

You would not beleive how many times I have had to explain how you make felt today! Bizarely, people seemed to be most amazed that I 'stuck all those little heffalumpps on' it took about 20 minutes flat with some anti-fraying product, as opposed to making the felt, which took a whole afternoon!
I love the heffalumps too - they're one of those things I found in a sale for a quid and bought just because I like them - never really beleived I actually use them (one of those things!) and theres half a pot left!
I must make more things - I really enjoyed making and playing with my pointy hat! I must post some pics of the physio team doing karoke 'New York, New York' in daft hats! |

Oh well done WW, that looks great. I'm hoping to find time this winter to do some more felting, seeing this will encourage me. |
