Hi everyone!

I am seileasdar and hail from Perthshire. Found the forum via natalie's web site, via the (in)famous It's not easy to be green forum and the tea potties posse.
Nice site, this one!!

I was introduced to tapestry weaving about a year ago and have so far set up a very easy picture frame loom for the purpose of getting my hatching and hachures practised.
I also have warped up another frame loom and have bought cool thin yarn to use - but so far, haven't had the spark of creativity to actually know what I want to weave, yet.

My knitted socks grace several feet of friends and family, as well.
The more complicated the Norwegian style colour pattern, the better!
I love a challenge in knitting!

And I am always on the lookout for really nice pure wool yarn for knitting.
Just feel like taking up sweater knitting again after fifteen years (knitted all my jumpers myself during school time - even in school, under the table Laughing )

That is very nice to know!
I like connecting with people with roughly the same interests as I have. Wink

Whereabouts in Scotland? ~shire would suffice if you want.

I have to ask.... is that your sofa?

I'm a sock knitter too, but have only done one pair of socks with a handspun/vintage wool 2 ply.
I have a merino/silk single on the bobbin at the moment, but can't decide whether I should ply it on itself or with something else.

lol!
I knew someone would ask...
and no, unfortunately it's not my sofa.

It's the community sofa the lovely people of the Isle of Coll put on one of their most beautiful beach for everyone to enjoy.
They even changed the upholstery to make it more waterproof!
And from there, with a nice glass of red wine, and nice company, you can wave the sun good bye over the horizon.

Hi seileasdar, welcome. I'm mainly a felt maker and knitter but dabble with the spinning wheel and weaving.

Hi everyone again,
thanks for all the nice welcomes here!
This seems to be a nice cosy community, just like felt jacket, knitted socks and a nice self-made blanket. Smile

Will look back here often, there is never enough information on thread and crafts.

Hi! That sofa just looks dreamy sat there on the beach! I love that idea!
