Some of you may know I have very strong felings about where merino wool is sourced and how it's been treated. This has meant it's difficult for me to make felt in the amounts I'd like to due to being ill and having to make it from raw fleece. Well, I can now confirm that Craftynotions sell merino cross dyed tops from a farm In the Falklands Called DHF and it meets all my (ver ver strict) criteria Very Happy

They also send out orders so quickly it was almost here before I'd pressed 'send'. They're friendly, helpful and efficient and hopefully I'll be using them lots

Thanks for that, I have had misgivings about where some wool comes from after reading about some of the "seamier side" of the wool industry. I'll show this site to my OH, he is the spinner, I'll buy some for myself for felting once the colder weather is back again. Very Happy

They're a reasonable price too! Great - we need more sheep friendly suppliers.

What should I be looking out for, CY? As in, how do I judge good ethically produced stuff. I'm pretty careful where my meat comes from, so I'd like to keep up the standard.

Yes I would like to know this as well, I didn't know there was any problem with the sourcing of fleece
